Dear friends, Yesterday, after the end of the Press Conference, we had the feeling we had been fooled.
When we were included for the third time in the shortlist, we saw the IOC decision as a great chance to make Roller Sports grow. We have devoted our time and energy to the Olympic Project in oder to get the best possible outcome. We have created a lively, fresh and exciting presentation. We have involved two of our top athletes, Cecilia Baena and Kalon Dobbin, who have been very proud to represent their sport in the presence of the IOC Executive Board, and that have shared with the IOC members all their enthusiasm and passion.
We have done a great job and we are sincerely disconcerted from the outcome. The decision of proposing Wrestling, Baseball/Softball and Squash to the next session of the IOC Assembly that will take place in Buenos Aires in September, has literally left us perplexed. Only 3 months ago, the IOC Executive Board decided to exclude Wrestling from the Programme, and now has decided to propose it again: I just cannot help but find such change of mind puzzling and bewildering.
I ask myself how is it possible that one sport is considered unsuitable for the Olympic Programme, and after only 3 months is considered suitable again.
I find also awkward that IOC had claimed several times that they wanted to include a brand new sport that young generations would find appealing and then their decision was to exclude Roller Sports, preventing FIRS from presenting its sport to the Assembly.
Regardless of what decided yesterday by the IOC Executive Board, we are sure that the work carried out during these years has helped to promote the image of our sport, and that the work that we will continue to carry out in the future will bring something positive as well.

Ayer, al acabarse la Rueda de Prensa hemos tenido la clara sensación de haber sido engañados.
Cuando nos incluyeron, por tercera vez, en la short list, vivimos la decisión del COI como una enorme oportunidad de crecimiento para los Roller Sports. Hemos dedicado para el Proyecto Olímpico tiempo y energías, para obtener el mejor resultado posible. Realizamos una presentación joven, fresca y emocionante. Involucramos a dos de nuestros mejores atletas, Cecilia Baena y Kalon Dobbin, que fueron orgullosos de representar a su proprio deporte frente al Buró Ejecutivo del COI, trasmitiendo a los miembros COI todo su entusiasmo y pasión.
Hemos hecho un óptimo trabajo y somos desconcertados por el resultado. La decisión de proponer en la próxima sesión de la Asamblea del COI, que se celebrará en Buenos Aires, Wrestling, Baseball/Softball y Squash nos ha dejado literalmente atónitos. Hace tan sólo 3 meses, el mismo Buró Ejecutivo del COI que hoy decidió admitir al Wrestling, lo excluyó del Programa Olímpico : no puedo no definir desconcertante y precursor de confusión, un semejante y tan rápido cambio de evaluación.
Me pregunto cómo sea posible que en solo tres meses un deporte pueda ser considerado inadecuado y a continuación adecuado para ser parte del Programa Olímpico.
Considero aun más confuso que el COI haya manifestado varias veces el deseo de introducir un deporte joven y atractivo para las nuevas generaciones y al mismo tiempo haya decidido excluir a los Roller Sports, impidiendo a FIRS de someter su proprio deporte al juicio de la Asamblea.
A pesar de lo decidido ayer por el Buró Ejecutivo del COI, estamos convencidos de que el trabajo desarrollado en estos años, y que seguiremos desempeñando, ha sido y será necesario para el desarrollo de la imagen de nuestro deporte.
