WRG2017 Skateboarding: Training day in Nanjing

Hectic days in Nanjing where the first edition of World Roller Games kicked off last week. Moving toward the last weekend of events, Skateboarding will debut. It's time for the first official Vert World Championship. (Photo Credits: Piero Capannini)


Over 40 skaters from 20 nations showed up for an intense 4 days of contest. The event kicked off Wednesday a with two days of practices to be followed by two more of competition.
A world class, state of the art Vert ramp, has been set up to host the event at Sports Lab. Right at the same venue that saw great skateboarding demos going down at Youth Olympic Games in 2014. The 14 feet high, 70 feet wide massive ramp has been sessioned by leading names of vert skateboarding international scene: Clay Crainer, Daniel Cuervo, Moto Shibata, Poppy Starr Olsen, Hunter Long, Jocke Olson and Ivan Federico to name a few. Thursday after a long practice session,  the day folded with the first ever Anti Doping Education Session of the Skateboarding. Everything is set for the competition to start tomorrow with Men Qualifiers. The best 12 skaters will advance to the finals to be held on Saturday, together with women’s competition.
